How I Manage My Schedule as a Mom and Entrepreneur

My #1 secret to not losing my mind as a mom + entrepreneur

As a mother of 3-year-old triplets and an entrepreneur with growing biz, I have discovered the secret to balancing both without losing your mind: YOU NEED HELP.

Here are areas where I employ help:

- cleaning the house
- meals for the week
- caring for the kids
- admin tasks
- social media tasks
- community management
- Facebook ads
- Quran class
- money management

Here are the comments I get for employing help:

- do you even do anything, Sudduf?
- you are so lazy
- you're not being a good role model for your kids
- your life should not be so easy
- *snicker*, of course, you have time to (read a book, take a bubble bath, get a massage), you don't do anything

Here is what I want to say:

1. IT IS OKAY TO HIRE HELP. In fact, I think it's necessary if you are a mom + entrepreneur. And hiring help + asking for help is exhausting.

2. It doesn't give you a badge of honor when you say "I do everything myself". It's a trauma response. Having to be ultra-independent and "not need anyone's help" is a trauma response. I hear this on a daily basis from mothers and entrepreneurs. I used to do it all myself, too. And I was overstretched, overwhelmed, and unhappy.

3. I come from a place of privilege. Not everyone can pay to hire help and not everyone has access to help. Not everyone has the luxury of NOT doing everything on their own.

We were created by Allah to thrive in communities, "O people! We created you from a male and a female and made you races and tribes, that you may know one another " [49:13]
