3 Tips from Muslim Women Entrepreneurs
Have you always wanted to be your own boss? Me, too!
That's about all I knew, though. I didn't have an idea, a plan, or a mentor or community.
My first business was a modest fashion business. It was through this business that I was able to connect with an amazing network of inspiring entrepreneurs. If I hadn't found these women, I would not be where I am today.
I went from modest fashion to selling Islamic lifestyle products at a brick-and-mortar boutique called Salam Shop. My journey there took me to where I am today, a business coach working specifically with Muslim women entrepreneurs.
Today, in my membership, we had our year-end party and I realized, once again, how integral we all are to one another's journey. Alhamdulillah for community and connections. We were never meant to do this alone.
To celebrate our businesses in 2020 and get motivated for 2021, I'm going to share 3 tips from some of my favorite Muslim women entrepreneurs:
1. Melanie Elturk @hautehijab: "Never forget why you're in it to begin with. Write out a list of intentions and refer back to it often. Focus on purpose, product, and then profit."
2. @layinkasanni: "Make istikhara a part of your business practice. No matter what decision you make you shouldn’t need to wait until it feels right to go forth, because Al-Hadi (The Guide) will make it happen for you if it’s His will."
3. Asmaa Hussein @ruqayas.bookshelf: "Small and consistent actions can build a great business. Stick it out, stay committed, and look for the barakah in small successes."
